The Loch Ness Monster, or Nessie, is the most famous of all the mysterious creatures of the deep. Found in a Scottish lake Nessie sightings have been reported for over a hundred years.
For those sceptics Nessie is nothing more than a seabird, a large fish, a hallucination or a piece of wood. Others believe that it is the last of the dinosaurs which have been extinct for millions of years known as the zeugladon which is a cross between a long serpent and a whale.
Over the past 20 years modern technology has been used extensively. In 1987 "Operation Deepscan" took place where 20 vessels scanned the southern half of the loch using state of the art sonar equipment. The operation recorded large moving objects on several occasions.
The question still remains, does the Loch Ness Monster exist, and if so what is it?
